Sea The Stars - Retirement Announced

Hardly the point: DT was all out to beat Youmzain, if indeed he did STS has not been all out to beat anything in this season though I do agree Dt was not 'ordinary'. I think he might have been, trained by anyone else or anywhere else

Sea The Stars - Retirement Announced

When I clicked on the link shortly before you, it was listed as 'unavailable' so clearly there were conversations with M'Lud PS It's back now, correct - and the pertinent sentence is: "Sea The Stars is an annoying horse for two reasons - the first 'a' should clearly be an 'e', and he keeps...

    Breeder's Cup Meeting

I must say reading some of their thread on STS really does make one appreciate this forum! Some incredibly silly remarks on there, and not a mention of Lasix or steroids either! I particularly rolled my eyes at the one posting that implies a great horse has to be dominant at 2 - they don't...

    Breeder's Cup Meeting

I'm in two minds - I'd love to see him thrash the Yanks, but it's not a level playing field over there, with all the drugs etc so if he were beat, which I don't think he would be, what would that prove anyway? Until they ban drugs (esp steroids) completely right across the obard, we just don't...

Sea The Stars - Retirement Announced

What did it say?? It's been removed

    Champions Day

Just saw that and I fanced her already for the race, but hadn't put the bet on - now her price has contracted. It's not a vintage field - no real champ in there, sadly, of those certain to run. I like Zacinto a lot, and sentiment would not mind Twice Over winning a big one - but whichever wins...

    Nicky Henderson Found Guilty

It's arguable that Burke's iniquities were very different from Henderson's - There is quite a feeling that Main misled him, and that unlike Burke there was no intention to gain a false advantage, eps so far as punting is concerned It's certainly true though that Henderson is 'Establishment' and...

Sea The Stars - Retirement Announced

STS was front page news on most of the UK dailes today as well! which is pretty amazing. He had almost the whole of the front page of the Telegraph. His total winnings are now £4,417,163 according to the RP website Re Kinane retiring: whislt he is riding so brilliantly why would he stop...

    2009 Arc.

Interesting interview with Jimmy Fortune today on ATR at Windsor: he said that although visually the pace looked slow due to the long lead of the pacemakers, in fact it wasn't; he said they were going a good clip and the race was truly run at 'proper pace'

    2009 Arc.

Me too, it gives you a quite different sensation form the officical race coverage, much more like being there in spite of the poor quality of the vid Has anyone found a YouTube of the coverage with commentary by - I guess Simon Holt, as played in ATR this morning? Proper commentary, very good...

    2009 Arc.

Oxx said today that he can see now how `Nijinsky lost the Arc - he thinks he lost it in the Parade Ring. He remarked that Longchamp is very closed in and that the crowds pre-race are very in the horses' faces - esp for STS yesterday. And given everyone on track wanted to get near the horse, the...

    2009 Arc.

Well I'm not sure apobut that Ardross! My point is that certain forumites are always more willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Ballydoyle horses and to discount other people's horses, and often continue to do so in the face of the evidence. I'm very dispassionate about Ballydoyle horses...

    2009 Arc.

I was making a general point, as should have been obvious. We see it every season on here!

Apparently we went to 3 in running on BF! I wasn't looking though, I wanted to watch the race without distractions

    Breeder's Cup Meeting

Some good Breeders Cup trials on atr tonight - cards in the RP Wil they hav eto take STS now I wonder? He won with plenty in hand today, Kinane didn't have to use the whip seriously. You'd have to have a go surely, after that?

    Rest of Arc weekend

Eight winners for the Aga I think - four each day. Poor poor Lemaire, he must be chewing the carpet

    2009 Arc.

Exactly, it's not just the unique sequence of a G1 every month, it's been the manner of his victories which is so extraordinary. I've been amazed that some on here - some very experienced observers - can't see what is so different about this horse! He's in a quite different class form anything...

    Rest of Arc weekend

It almost tempts me to have a place bet at least on Alandi, but he likes it soft! C'mon Askar! - but I wish the atr team woudl stop calling him Askar TOO :ninja: Arggh! Alandi!! and that was so close too..... What a day for Oxx and Kinane - and the Aga! Sometimes the good guys do win But...

    Rest of Arc weekend

Yes just saw that, doh! There was a long (-lunch) gap bewtween the Abbaye and the next race too, very sensible on a big day

    Rest of Arc weekend

Still no Prix du Cadran - anyone have RUK and know what's going on there? No mention on atr... I want to watch Yeats and Askar Tau
