    The 2025 Cesarewitch (Handicap)

I have a varied portfolio, ranging from Dawn Rising to Vaguely Royal, and including the likes of The Shunter. In for a few quid only. I love this race - marvellous history about it. I remember John Cherry winning the race 49 years ago, under Lester. Carried a huge weight, too...

The "Let's Have A Heated Debate Series" - Episode 1: Betting Discipline

Today is a fairly typical day’s punting today for me. I won with some pissed bets on US racing last night, that I didn’t check until this morning. I paid myself back £15, and had £8 left to punt for today. Which has now turned into £21, thanks to some combos from Giggsy. I should stop there...

The "Let's Have A Heated Debate Series" - Episode 1: Betting Discipline

The only time I chase losses is when I’m in the pub - drink impairs judgement, we all know that. However, when the angle you’ve seen that “no one else could possibly have seen” romps in at 20/1 - and you’re pissed - well, that is a marvellous feeling. Betting apps are what makes it easier to...

We didn’t really get a look in, aside from Le Pelerin placing at 10/1. Winner was the second string for the trainer responsible for First Greyed. Plus 1.5pts

So, the 4:20 at Wolverhampton tomorrow. Three qualifying jockeys, and the best one - our man, Eireann - is riding the two-time course winner, First Greyed at 10/1. The other jockeys, who have also ridden winners recently are riding more fancied horses - Zambezi Magic and Le Pelerin I’m nine...

Saw that last night. He’s probably demanding rides and getting other jockeys jocked off the favourite these days!

Oh. We’ll have to do some proper thinking, then. The bloke is a machine - always wins or places. But it’s good to see the theory reaping small rewards. A jockey that good should not be winning races on 11/1 shots. And it’s that extra competence that is finding the extra ability from the horse.

Excellent return, chaps. Eireann is a total star, and a 16/1 place. Plus 9 points

The next qualifier is the 14:20 tomorrow. Five places, too. Three qualifying jockeys, all with ew shouts. Our man Eireann rides Rainbow Nebula at 10/1; Henry Callan rides Shaladar at 14/1; and Mr JH Williamson rides Cancan In The Rain at 16/1. Each of the horses have question marks about...

The 13:58 at Catterick. Our old friend, Eireann Cagney takes the ride on Ninety Nine. The horse is inconsistent, but has won here before. I’m on ew at 12/1, with four places. This is where the “amateur with form” factor is at its strongest, surely. Slim says this fellow is a very decent...
