Backing Venetia Williams' Chasers In November with Andrew Mount

If Venetia could be described as cream, then she should rise back up soon.

If it's anything like England the bus drivers will be requesting more money. I mean, I'm all in favour of this of course, but at least keep providing the service.

I'm hoping things get better for Venetia towards the end of this week. The Famous Five is entered up in a class 3 at Bangor on Friday, so I await to see if he's declared there. Then we have the December Gold Cup on Saturday, where I think Martator could be stonkingly good value, at double...

Backing Venetia Williams' Chasers In November with Andrew Mount

Yes, I'd like to know what you think about him, even if you want to take him on, Ian. I'm aware he was beaten at short odds last season, but he's now a second season chaser and my hope is, he's the scope to kick on and improve again this season. We should find out on Saturday.

Backing Venetia Williams' Chasers In November with Andrew Mount

The Famous Five is entered in the 1.30 class two race at Aintree on Saturday. He had an entry at Newcastle recently in a lower class race, and another entry for this Friday, again in a lower class race, but was taken out today. Perhaps this is a sign the horse has been working well at home and...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

I was hoping the market had let mine drift incorrectly, and that given all Ocean Heights form was from up on the pace, he'd at least be ridden that way today. Needless to say, he ends up being held up last. Humble pie eh.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Because I never actually went, Danny. 😂 Two wasted tickets unfortunately mate. I was due to my take my lovely mum who loves her racing, is a proper geordie aswell, but her knee had become very swollen, and with all the forecast rain, (that never properly materialised until much later in the...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

A selection for tomorrow. Lingfield 2:00 Ocean Heights could be the one. Firstly, I find it interesting he runs with no tongue tie or headgear which he's worn previously. Why this is the case, I don't know, but I'm hoping they might have found the key to him for want of a better expression. He...

The Official Constitution Hill Thread 2025/26

I said last season he was regressing for want of a better word. That said, no prize for stating what a good horse he was at one time. So what do connections do now? His record at right handed tracks, notably Sandown and Kempton is pretty darn good, and he's never fallen going right handed...

I'm loathed to disagree with you, with the form that you're in, Ian. I think Slurricane is very interesting. He was 7 lengths or thereabouts behind the favourite at Cheltenham and my gosh is he weighted to reverse that form. How much better off is he, about a stone? Slurricane hung right handed...

I've a feeling he's more than enough cash not to need to be on any gravy train, Luke. He's surely not one of the skint mob anyway... I'd like to think he's doing because he loves it.

Josh Apiafi started the Racing Media Academy, which is a noble cause, trying to get under represented groups in to the Racing Media. I met his brother Lee down at Doncaster Racecourse earlier this year when having my interview for this scheme. They seem like nice people. I've no idea about ATR...

I can confirm connections have taken my advice, and Novelista has been gelded. Watch the space next season!
