    Ayr - other races

If that was the plan for Valgrand it didn’t last very long. I actually thought as soon as the tape went up that he was being made to go faster than he wanted to and didn’t give him much chance of an error free round

The 2025 Scottish Grand National (Handicap Chase)

Didn’t last years winner also drift massively on the day to go off about 20/1 having been AP favourite?

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Yes. From the RP The ride given to Celebre D’Allen was sanctioned by stewards, who banned jockey Micheal Nolan for ten days as he “continued in the race when the horse appeared to have no more to give and was clearly losing ground after the second-last fence”. Very lenient IMO

    Top 3 Albums

I was going to post on here a few months ago but wanted to listen to the albums I had in mind once again to be sure on my top 3 so here goes Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd). The first album I ever bought at the age of 11 and one I’ve bought again in various formats over the years Graceland...

The 2025 Scottish Champion (Limited Handicap) Hurdle

This one is surely much better than his miserable effort in the County Hurdle. I backed him that day but maybe it was this race that was the target

    Aintree (other races)

A rotten Aintree festival for me to go with my rotten Cheltenham festival. Reflecting on this I think after a very good NH season until early March I just became a bit complacent and didn’t bother studying form properly

    The 2025 Grand National

It was ante-post bets that contributed to this being my worst National punting-wise for years. Only bet on the day was my only return (a place with Iroko) and I had ante post bets on Intense Raffles and Vanillier neither of which I’d have gone near today.

    Aintree (other races)

Well done Deep Cave backers If only Danny Gillian had held on to Timmy a few seconds longer

    Aintree (other races)

Timmy Tuesday for me too in the opener. 8/1 seems a decent price (Bet365 boosted)

    Aintree (other races)

Agree 14s looked too big and now available at 20s. Probably drifted because of the amount of water they’ve put on the track but tempting each way at that price

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Nice one. A great shout on what was a really good day at Ascot despite a disappointing number of runners
