I started watching it very late but fell asleep so going to watch it today. I hadn’t actually realised that the Rocky Mountains were in Canada, or that there were wild horses living there. I hope they don’t treat them the way the Americans do, something that makes me very angry given that years...

If anyone has Netflix can I recommend a film called The Mustang. It was shown on Ch 4 a while back but is no longer available on there, but it is on Netflix. I’d love to watch it again.

Currently watching The Bishops Wife ( which you introduced me to) as I couldn’t find anything Christmas’y. I did have it recorded but had to clear my recordings to make way for the racing but thankfully it’s on utube.

How sad. I was only thinking this afternoon how good it had been to have had two days of great racing with no injuries. And on the flat, too.

Thankfully I follow Paul Willis’s runners because Adam trains for him. I only spotted the colours at the last minute and then followed the wrong horse throughout the race because his horses usually run in cheek pieces. Having given up on it I suddenly realised at the end of the race that he’d won!

Well I think I followed the Twig recommendation because there’s money gone into my account but I can’t log in properly to my account ( what is it with me and getting locked out of things?). Quite often get locked out of W Hill, especially on busy days ( and a bit bonkers when they’re sponsoring...

Ever since rediscovering racing in my thirties I think racetracks are the only places where I feel truly at home amongst ‘my tribe’. Although, sadly, I only ever go to Kelso these days. Too tiring getting to places like Cheltenham.

I went to Aintree the year that Little Polveir won the National. Standing by the elbow I hadn’t got a clue who’d won. I did ask someone how I could get to see what was happening and his reply was ‘M’dear, go home and watch it on the telly’. Which is what I’ve done ever since. Although I was...

Just listened to Matt Chapmans podcast in which he spoke to Henrietta Knight and she said she doesn’t think CH should ever jump a fence on a racetrack again as he’s obviously lost his confidence.

Thankfully I’m back on instagram again. No idea what happened with Facebook (although I can, for some reason access that on the computer at home).

I’ve been banned from my Facebook account ( which I used to follow Ian on) no idea why. However I joined instagram which I much prefer but have just been locked out of that, too. I follow ( or used to) lots of people on them and am lost without that access as I’m a stay at home Billy no mates…

I’ve seen several horses that carry their heads low during races but have never seen one as low as Ballyburn!

Have been thinking of you today. There’s ( thankfully) some amazing new forms of treatment available.

Does it confuse horses that different tracks seem to have different hurdles? I believe that all tracks are going to switch to the ones they have at Kelso but I lose track of which ones they are. I’m sure they used to be orange and now they’re white.

And for my health, too. I was dreading the race.

It’s Red Dove not Grey Dove. I wish I could share the video on the internet but I don’t know how to do it. The tape will deteriorate if I don’t do it soon.

But I loved her! I’ve got a lovely documentary on an old video tape about the family who bred her. I think it featured Grey Dove and Flakey hadn’t even been born.
