How did he know you were stone cold sober? had he been monitoring your drinks? Who was the secretary that said that to you? How did you know he grassed you up? Which horse did he ride at Windsor? Were you the trainer? Who was the jockey caught in traffic?

You are right DO, no mark up means a par run. My memory is playing tricks. 100% would be a fair par for most distances at Newmarket, maybe 101% for 10f+ The downhill second last furlong cancels out the uphill last furlong.

I'll stand corrected DO. I just checked old spread sheets. Depending on the distance, around 100% is about right at Newmarket. I got 100.8% as par over 8f there.

They aren't that big due to the climb to the finish. I have them at 97/98% from the pars I made. I will check.

Every course has a different finishing % to suggest a true run race DO. Depends on the nature of the last two furlongs mainly. 100/101% would be the ideal flat course finish for an evenly run race. The only way to know the % finish for a truly run race on any course is by recording them and...
