Backing Venetia Williams' Chasers In November with Andrew Mount

I haven't got any stats to back it up, but her horses were also largely out of form from February to the end of last season. Tanganyika was one which ran fairly well on his first run three weeks ago at Cheltenham. Stable bug like the O'Neills?

    The 2025 Becher (Handicap) Chase

I found this race at Chaddesley Corbett on Mark Spencer's YouTube channel which contains hundreds of point-to-point races from the last ten years or so. They were filmed mainly at northern courses like Alnwick, Charm Park and Sheriff Hutton.

Jenny Pitman, but mainly for staying chasers ( Corbiere, Burrough Hill Lad, Garrison Savannah, Toby Tobias, Royal Athlete, Willsford ). I can't think of too many top hurdlers of hers though.

I was sure there was a chaser trained by Mary Reveley who did this. It wasn't Cab On Target when I checked one of his races on YouTube around an hour ago. There's footage also of Seven Towers in the 1997 Midlands Grand National, and he's not carrying his head particularly low in this race.

    The Hertfordshire Bunny Murderer

The Two Harrys - second at Plumpton yesterday - is now eligible to run in handicaps. Here are the two Jacks on catching rabbits. Archive television is much more interesting to watch than what's on today. I've seen more red kites and kingfishers than rabbits this year.

It must be time to start a separate " Congratulations to Ian Davies " thread. I am very impressed. Well done.

    Champion Hurdle 2026

I thought I had come up with an original idea about Kargese ( 16/1 with Bet365) being a contender for the Champion Hurdle, but Slim was there a month ahead of me. Like State Man she won the County Hurdle off 141 and is now rated 152 which is the same as Golden Ace. I think she was entered for...

Backing Venetia Williams' Chasers In November with Andrew Mount

Winning time for the 12:30 race at Newbury was 11.73 seconds slower than standard which ties in with good to soft going. And they were jumping the full width of the fences rather than railing off the insides. Could be worth giving Hunter Legend at least one more chance on softer ground and also...

    Saturday 29th November 2025

Hold That Taught (14/1) raced noticeably wide around Bangor on his first run this season and wasn't beaten that far in the end. It's not a strong race for the first prize of nearly £40,000, and trainer/owner/jockey won it last year with Frero Banbou.

The Official Constitution Hill Thread 2025/26

I found this film yesterday evening. It's a bit disjointed, and the pictures change from colour to black and white fairly often. It was filmed at Richard Price's small yard in Herefordshire in August 1992.

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

He also held an entry for today's 2:25 race at Newbury ( class 2 two and a half mile handicap chase ) but may have been a couple of pounds out of the handicap with the 4-y-o weight for age allowance off 127. Trainer doesn't usually have runners in top two mile handicap hurdles, and the move from...

The 2025 Coral Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

The rain forecast for Saturday morning would not favour Hyland or Riskintheground. I quite like The Changing Man (9/1) at this stage. He finished 2nd to Myretown in last March's Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham, but is twelve pounds better off and has had a run this season. His overall record...

A Day (Or Evening) At The Races

2blokesgoracing.com 2BlokesGoRacing is an idea that evolved at the end of 2021 from...two blokes going horse racing. After some research, we found that there were no ‘all under one roof’ racecourse review websites that detailed the race day experience for racegoers like ourselves. That needed...

    Jockey News

Exclusion orders are issued by an independent disciplinary officer "in instances where a person's presence on premises licensed by the BHA, or association with racing's participants, is undesirable in the interests of racing based on their conduct". Under the ban, Barnes is also not allowed to...

The 2025 Hurst Park Handicap Chase

Looks as if it would be another try at around two and a half miles for Martator bearing in mind how he ran on after the last fence today. Plenty of those races at Cheltenham, and he ran disappointingly ( stable out of form ? ) in one at Ascot in January.

    Racing Books

I used to have quite a few Timeform annuals, but I kept only two of them as I read somewhere that charity shops were unlikely to find anybody wanting to buy any. I've been flicking through one of the books I bought in the secondhand equestrian bookshop JA Allen which was near Victoria Station...

    Amateur Jockey Races Thread

I missed the race, but he was a close second. Was Mighty Moss the horse that Fred Hutsby rode in something like the Cheltenham Foxhunter around thirty years ago?
