    Trainer news

To be fair, Trainers are very vulnerable in these situations but it is difficult for us to know who are the good guys. I don’t think Ketamine is a performance enhancer and I wouldn’t argue the punishment is unreasonable. What I thought was quite amusing was that this was dealt with under the...

The legal alcohol limit for driving in Scotland is 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. This limit is lower than in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, where it is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. In England the limit is roughly equivalent to 2 pints of average strength...

I’d be playing the seasickness card! Or taking the initiative and booking it myself for Shergar Cup or Beverley Bullet week.

I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't recommend slitting wrists with eyes closed. 😁 I agree your general point and with Cricket usually the pundits don't seem to feel the same need to be talking all of the time and telling you how wonderful what you are watching is. That said, overall I see the...

Well done Robicheaux and Desijo. Couldn't see it myself, but hope you had plenty on. 👍

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Great effort, 2nd at 50/1. I was on Jakajora - a big fancy. Unfortunately, Jamie Spencer switched the wrong way, right into trouble. Stopped and finished 6th. He'll be in lots of trackers now - can clearly win from this mark.

Gutted about Aalto. In front before and after the line, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

The 2025 John Smith's Cup (Handicap)

Ran a great race considering where he was positioned off such a slow pace. Would have been very interesting if they’d gone faster. But that’s racing.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

One of the pundits on Racing TV said they hadn’t been able to apply the TT before the race and that the trainer had said he wasn’t remotely worried about it not being worn and he’s not run any better with it on. All his wins have been without it. Makes you wonder why he’d been declared with it...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

Aalto as big as 35/1 now. I backed him at 14/1 last night! Obviously this drift is a worry, but he was so impressive when winning this last year, the 4lb rise would not have stopped him then, I’ll be backing him him again around this price. If he disappoints again today, he’ll be more, or less...

The 2025 John Smith's Cup (Handicap)

Very good summary of the race. Noteworthy that Qitaal has attracted some interest, now best price 22/1. Dark Moon Rising now 100/1. Josie Gordon did ride a 2nd for this stable at Newmarket on Thursday and won the race on her side. Unfortunately, Prince of India pulverised the field from the...

    Flatties to follow 2025

He's having another run tomorrow, 6.05 Chester. Currently 33/1. First time cheekpieces, and apprentice ridden (Conor Orr, claiming 3lb). I think he'll pop up in one of these one day, though 6f at Chester wouldn't have been my first choice for an ideal setup. Incidentally, Easy Peeler is...
