The 2025 York August Meeting Day 4 (Saturday) Thread

It was. Both mine ran brilliant, couldn't believe the drift on the French horse.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

One of the busiest days of the year for me. As well as my York bets I have Principality, Made u Blush and Wicked at Goodwood and Bintjeddah later on at Windsor. All eye catchers or horses who can be forgiven runs on bad ground lto (just Wicked that one)

The 2025 York August Meeting Day 4 (Saturday) Thread

Backed King's Gambit ante-post for this at 11/2 when the very dangerous Fox Legacy was in the race and I find today that he's drifted to 5/1. I'll top up at that price and hope for the best - the handicappers he's facing are mostly progressive so you never know although Gladius seems way too...

The 2025 York August Meeting Day 3 (Friday) Thread

Had another look as it doesn't feel right not having a bet on a Festival card and come down on Night Raider in the Nunthorpe. I'll be backing to lay him. He was at the wrong side at Goodwood and he ran well here in the Duke of York over a trip that's obv too far. Comical Point went in my 2yo...

7/1 into 7/4 fav and Oisin rapes me again. I hope he crashes on the way home (is he allowed to drive)

Very pleasing decs with Fox Legacy not going in the King's Gambit race. Maranoa Charlie still very backable in the Group 1 and he's a front runner so unless that prick Quinault troubles him he should have a great chance. I'm gonna top up and put some IR lays in an short prices.

    The 2025 Racing League

Salamanca City has another go at one of these this evening and he's worth an interest (6.45). He was second at Chepstow and the front end (was beaten by the pace setter) was definitely advantaged that day.

The 2025 York August Meeting Day 2 (Thursday) Thread

Strong fancy for Dance in the Storm in the closer. She was badly drawn in a handicap against the boys at the Glorious meeting and almost got up to beat Mudbir - she wasn't great from the stalls and was taken to the inside and did not have a trouble free passage - she did really well to finish as...

The 2025 York August Meeting Day 4 (Saturday) Thread

Saturday of the Ebor meeting where the actual Ebor is the fourth most interesting race of the day. Can't beat it. I've backed King's Gambit in the Strensall at 11/2 and have a nice possie in the City of York being on the French horse at 8s and I have Never so Brave in a couple of rollovers...

    Yawnfest of a race.

    The 2025 International Stakes

That's fair but over the extended 10f do you need acceleration? It's a grinder type race, not a turn of foot one. Singspiel beat Bosra Sham in it, Postponed and Australia won decent renewals.

    The 2025 International Stakes

Calandagan (best horse in training imo unless Ombudsman and/or Delacroix take his crown in this) somewhat refutes this. I'm balls deep in Ombudsman, have him in half a dozen rollovers and was getting excited when it looked like he might face a Ballydoyle Whirl challenge rather than a Delacroix...

The 2025 Prix Jacques Le Marois

Totally the wrong race for him. If he couldn't peg back a handicapper over a longer trip at Goodwood what chance at York in a race that is sure to be run at a nice pace. Clueless planning imo.

    The 2025 Racing League

Words cannot adequately describe what a f$%^ing waste of space Charlie Hills is. It's so frustrating picking a horse out to follow and the c*** who trains it runs it over the wrong trip. He's not his dad that's for sure.
