Most GC winners are bottomed after their exertions in March. That could be the obvious explanation.

Very open race now. 4/1 the field? Last two winners looking very beatable, all of a sudden. And plenty of runners for the four places.

I don’t agree. Plenty of very good horses have been slowed down over their optimum distance at Cheltenham, allowing a plodder to steal a place.

If it comes up soft, he could easily run into a place. Him and Golden Ace are my each-way double banker for Cheltenham.

Is HC likely to run in a Cheltenham GC? He’d sneak a place in an attritional race. That was some weight-carrying performance.

Luke Harvey definitely appears to be a lovely lad. I’d also put Oli Bell in that category, along with Rishi. Jason Weaver would never be your mate, though. Too much side to him, he looks like someone who would want you to fail badly. Very grumpy, too.

Has the race thrown up a few overrated horses? The first four finished in a heap, in record time. GDC and Iknowetc are still a way ahead of them, as far as Cheltenham is concerned.
