Yes it needs a bit of tinkering with I suspect.

And yet what they could be doing is running syndicates for 18-30yo like an enterprising guy did pointing. He bought two horses, Regatta de Blanc being one and created the Pendil Partnership which was £75/year on off payment but for young people. He got a fair take up but he should have...

Ones to note for next time NH 2026

Yeah it's probably nothing and maybe my eye was drawn more towards him due to the bright red colours but I will keep an eye on the horse anyway.

Ones to note for next time NH 2026

Couldn't find a thread for this (or if there is it could be merged or maybe this is a refresher) so I will start one Sandown 3.35 Brace for Landing (courtesy of the puppy snafflers aka Dan'n'Arry) - interesting. I spotted him as outsider of the whole field just before the off and as I didn't...

I see we have lots of other sections to the forum such as Principal Races etc but I wanted to post a thread on there but it didn't look like it was going to let me?

Upcoming Point To Points and Hunterchase's

A good entry for Taunton, I see, Gordon. 22?

Tom Scudamore talks a lot of sense too. And isn't afraid to be open and honest. And Max MacNeill was interesting too. These are people that need listening to by the BHA.

I watched this on the Opening Show and I too thought it bizarre. But more and more the "young and trendies" are stepping into these roles and given a free rein with marketing. We are seeing the same within the Pointing industry and most people are standing shaking their heads in disbelief...

    3 Inspections at Wincanton

I would have questioned as a trainer whether the meeting would have survived the frost but with covers these days you are reliant on complete honesty from the course. I would not have been happy personally on such a late call but probably would have sent a local friend to go and have a look.

Novice & Maiden Hurdlers 2025-2026 - Who Might Step Up?

The Reverend has just won quite nicely at Cork for Tony Bloom and Willie Mullins. A four time winner for William Haggas on the Flat and rated 102, this 5yo could be of interest for the Supreme?

    Time to give up?

I have good spells and poor spells. And when I have poor spells I sit there thinking "Oh I should back that" but I don't and it wins invariably at about 14-1 and then I am a proper stroppy cow for the rest of the day!

Upcoming Point To Points and Hunterchase's

I can see Larkhill following suit - they are inspecting this morning but I have yet to hear and actually Saturday night is going to be brassic there with -6 forecast so its highly unlikely.

    2026 In Memoriam (Racing people)

Sad to kick this off with this news - Ian Balding has passed away aged 87 https://www.racingpost.com/news/britain/ian-balding-legendary-trainer-of-mill-reef-dies-aged-87-a5bJS8j5ONlj/ I met him once and he spent the entire time looking at my cleavage... Great trainer though.

Upcoming Point To Points and Hunterchase's

I think they are planning on going to Larkhill on Sunday (currently looking like the frost might do for it sadly) as they are championing the Hands and Heels race

    BUMPERS

Good analysis Chaumi - I too think there could be some decent types all the way through. Roximan was disappointing but drifted a fair bit before the off.

Well done - nice win from him especially as he was keen early on.

That was pretty disappointing.... She's not really having a crack at the hurdles and I suspect is thinking about the injury she got. Maybe I'd step her up to 3m too as the pace was too much. Or just send her pointing!! 😀 Her mum won three at Larkhill so I think she would be happier...

The 2026 New Year's Day Racing Thread

Agree he's a good lad and well worth his claim. Another who started off in the Pointing world plus he's Ginger McCain's grandson.
