Upcoming Point To Points and Hunterchase's

Yes good number of runners, Gordon! And yes the tanks were a tad irritating. Not sure why they had to play soldiers quite so close to the lorry park considering the fact they have the entirety of Salisbury Plain at their disposal. Lucas Murphy was hit with a £200 fine - that might sting a bit...

Upcoming Point To Points and Hunterchase's

Grace a Vous Enki duly hosed in to take his second Coronation Cup (he's now 10 from 10 on the course). He was damn impressive and really is good enough to contest a hunter chase (previously trained by Paul Nicholls, he was highest rated at 128 and won twice for him adding to 2 wins in France...

The 2026 William Hill Handicap Hurdle

I saw Olive Nicholls today at Larkhill point to point and had a chat about Tutti Fruity. She said they think he's up to being supplemented but only if the ground is soft there. I asked about No Drama  and she said he was likely to be out next weekend as a prep for Cheltenham Also had a...

The 2026 William Hill Handicap Hurdle

Totally agree re the ground making him look head and shoulders above the rest. And horses can look better simply because they go through the ground whereas so many don't. BUT Nicholls was really confident and to run him off top weight does indicate what a high opinion he has of him. I have...

The 2026 William Hill Handicap Hurdle

Actually nice to see the Nicholls horses running so well atm. And clearly that was a big tonic for them. Especially after losing Kalif du Berlais. Would you supplement him for the CH now? In an open year with a rapidly improving horse, it's not the daftest idea?

The 2026 William Hill Handicap Hurdle

That was quite a route! A Graded horse in a handicap. This is wayyyyy better than a handicapper.

    Todays Racing -----England--Ireland

Wonder how much RIskintheground will get dropped for that? He's currently on 140 so should get dropped at least a couple or three to 137 and then he's back on his winning Cheltenham mark from last April over 2m4 on better ground - not that they have done anything wrong just upping him in trip on...

Upcoming Point To Points and Hunterchase's

Gordon has just radioed in that Willow Johnson, daughter of Richard has just ridden her first winner, pointing at Higham. Lovely to see them start between the flags. Hope it's the first of many.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Well done with the first two going in. Thought the first one was a really good performance giving weight to a nice horse in second.

    My All Weather Selections

Well done Dave - its a rare occurrence that someone comes on here, hits the ground running and continues in the same vein. You will soon be entering legendary status - but well deserved :cheerleader:

I see my favourite pony, Macklin has an entry for Taunton. Real shame you're not sponsoring again, Gordon.

Backing Venetia Williams' Chasers In November with Andrew Mount

Update from Venetia in today's RP but it's behind the paywall.

    Aisling Oscar

I thought he deserved his own thread since this hasn't happened in thirty years. It may be lower grade racing but this is a fantastic result for a cheap horse and all credit to connections for bringing about the improvement...

Will pay the heating bill thread

I used to buy the M&S assorted chocolate biscuit tin for Christmas every year - they were lush! Really thick chocolate on all of them.

    Amateur Jockey Races Thread

I'm so not a fan of these big professional yards dominating the races that should be restricted to the Amateur sport they represent. To have these highly rated horses dropping into hunter chases is all very well but it really annoys me that they feel the need to plunder and pot hunt and remove...

    My All Weather Selections

Oh absolutely. If you found a horse that liked the surface, it liked it. I just wasn't a fan.
