    The 2025 Longshot Thread

Justice Twice interests me a little 28's yesterday and 25/1 generally today, trainer has had two winners recently from as many runners ......... I would sooner chance two or three at big prices than go for a fav in a race full of debutants

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

Have been out for a good chunk of the day, but would have put this up earlier. It is somewhat of a guessing game in this race but I was advised by somebody in the industry to have an EW interest at a similar price ...... with 4 places on offer the 33/1 with Sky - Ladbrokes and Coral may shorten...

    The 2025 Grand National

Don't be put off by Jockeys having their first ride in the race, a few that spring to mind that won the race on the first attempt = Ryan Mania ( Auroras Encore ) Niall ( Slippers ) Madden on Numbersixvalverde , Jason Titley ( Royal Athlete ) , Liam Treadwell ( Mon Mone ) ....... there must...

    The 2025 Grand National

I think one thing that is overlooked by some, is the fact that since the race distance has been shortened along with the modification of the fences is that the race is generally run at a quicker tempo. I don't know the stats ( maybe someone has the figures ) but how do the injury & death rates...

    The 2025 Grand National

'' Good '' safe jumping ground is not dangerous, tacky going hinders jumping and is potentially worse ..... as I've said they will aim for G/S on Thursday, will most likely water that even to hopefully maintain G/S but with NO rain forecast it will be close to Good come Saturday. The Going...

    The 2025 Grand National

I'm not that far myself - just over the other side of the Mersey. Not long back home from there ........ the Going is currently '' Good to Soft '' ( soft in places ) ...... I'll be amazed if it doesn't dry up a little at least.

    The 2025 Grand National

From Tuesday through to Saturday of next week there is no rain forecast to fall, they can't over water in fear of producing tacky going - which may possibly be more dangerous than '' Good '' ....... they will aim for G/S on Thursday - will water in the evening to try and maintain that, but by...

    The 2025 Grand National

    The 2025 Grand National

Over the years the Irish National has produced the Aintree winner a few times I Am Maximus Numbersixvalverde Bobbyjo All spring to mind ........ Irish National winners to be placed at Aintree include Ebony Jane and Burrows Saint to name just a couple Intense Raffles won the Irish version...

    The 2025 Grand National

They will water to keep the going safe, but there is not huge amounts of rain forecast up until raceday. The going will be Good to Soft on the Thursday and probably on the Friday, they may well declare it G/S for Saturday but it is certain to be nearer Good ...... the genuine SOFT ground runners...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

5.00 Wincanton Albert Park .... EW 9/2 is my first racing bet ( other than a National ante post ) since Cheltenham, will double my stake IF Sky go 9/2 ( currently only 7/2 ) as they are paying 4 PLACES

    The 2025 Grand National

I used to update the trends each year, age - official rating etc for the past 20 years, but now the race has been cut to 34 runners it alters matters somewhat. The race is attracting a better quality field and you will need to be rated 146/147 this year just to get a place in the line up. Looks...

    The 2025 Grand National

I have just added a fourth pick to my portfolio - have looked ahead for the weather forecast and predict going likely to be no worse than the slower side of good. Perceval Legallois EW 14/1 ( 5 Places ) & 12/1 with 6 Places ..... 1pt EW each

    The 2025 Grand National

Broadway Boy and Stay Away Fay both ran in the Ultima if I remember correctly , there maybe a couple of others

    The 2025 Grand National

The 33's Vanillier ( now 14's gen ) is looking fair value now following the WD of the Gold Cup winner - and I'm happy enough that the 66 for Broadway Boy will be bigger than his odds will be on the day. I still think the official rating required to get a run will be around the 146 mark I am...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

2.30 Plumpton Odds on fav More Coko appears to only have to jump around to win, I'm not entirely convinced by the second fav though for second spot - Old Cowboy ....... so have backed the following Drumheller 12/1 Playaway Girl 22/1 For a Top 2 finish , with only five in the race I'm hoping...
