Will pay the heating bill thread

I've done my time with ice on the inside of windows etc cos I had fk all, no chance of that now unless I have to. I've seen more than one live cheap , sitting in the cold etc etc when they didn't have to thinking they're somehow 'winning', an uncle being a prime example, and laughed when they...

Lol tight arse. I need something like your trifecta to pay mine considering how the mrs likes the heating on ! Had & got nothing of my own anywhere for days so had a squint, I like Bashful Boy best, then Fascinating Shadow & Circuit Breaker about level as per the betting I've just looked at...

    TV coverage

I made a lot of money in my 20s but they were very different shall we say as I had fk all but memories to show for it by 30 lol. Anyway as you said people like easy money, and it would encourage repeat customers at courses if attendees associated winning money at the courses themselves, hence...

    TV coverage

Courses are commercial enterprises and view things from that perspective and matters not a jot if that's anathema to some. Po faced tight arses of any generation are not the customers they want. They need in volume, people who go and are willing to spend money there rather than any of the...

    TV coverage

Funnily enough "ladies day" is what sprung to my mind re friday night live When I was that age I was, as I had sense, far more interested in the kelly bundyesque rock chick girlfriend I had at the time than form analysis, a trip to the races was just a different day out. I'm all for courses...

    TV coverage

Personally I wasn't keen on the concept of the racing league as it was change to horse racing itself But with the friday night live thing I just take the view of different strokes, just like the whole music events after the races. I don't think aged, pious, teetotalling, penny pinching purists...

    Time to give up?

I felt well & truly roughed up by bookies the first 3 weeks of Dec, then made it back and then some the last week, especially on boxing day, my fav racing of the year. Meh swings & roundabouts

    Time to give up?

Spitters are quitters Everyone has periods where it feels like they can't do anything right. It doesn't matter if stats and spreadsheets are manna or kryptonite to you, there's maths you can't avoid re winning and losing runs relative to your strike rate. I.e. over a sequence of 1000 bets...

Well done winners , Haiti Couleurs was 3rd in my ratings

The 2025 Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase

By far the best trial/pointer/prep race for the Welsh National is the Welsh National Trial, which is unusual because "offical trials" are often negative pointers. I.e. since 2000, 29 runners have gone from the trial to the following Welsh National and 5 (17.2%) have won gving and lsp of £19.50...

The 2025 Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase

The 2025 Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase

Indeed I did something similar with several years of betfair data a long time ago. After looking at the general view I narrowed it down to my bets

The 2025 Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase

I've found that a small drift is ok but once it goes beyond a certain amount it's nearly always goodnight vienna and it's worth considering trading out to reduce the loss

The 2025 Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase

Imo you should be beating isp on avg. But you've raised an interesting question do those that have drifted to say evens, stayed at evens or shortened to evens all have the same chance in reality? I.e. if you looked at the long term strike rates of those 3 scenarios what would you see?
