Big Yards - Can They Get Too Big?

Donald McCain. I was convinced he was a future champion trainer in waiting but in my (not worth a lot but i'll give it anyway) opinion, he took on too many horses and lost his way a bit. It might be his training methods as he couldn't coax out the longevity of career, that say Nicholls can, or...

    Fever!

What happened to Western Warhorse? That broke me that race did. I was convinced CF would give us both the hat-trick of cheltenham wins.

    Best Trainer Of Chasers

Nicholls surely... 23% win rate with chasers over the last 5 seasons, which given the volume of runners will be hard to beat. I don't have the stats in tabular form though so no doubt someone will have a better record. The only one who readily came to mind was Harry Fry - 30% win rate with...

The Road to the 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup

Great performance from Cue Card, coneygree went down fighting, tremendous race. Always easier to take a losing bet in circumstances like that.

The Road to the 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup

I'm pretty surprised Coneygree isn't favourite. If he was trained by Nicholls he would be odds on. Track and absence would be the concerns but his first time out record is undefeated and Kempton is pretty tight and he destroyed the Feltham field there. Biggest bet of the NH season so far for me.

    Cheltenham 2016/2017

Like Gus I thought the same thing. If you knew he'd taken to hurdles he would be 12/1 or thereabouts. Ground will be fine and he is a decent stamp of horse, looked worth a speculative e/w punt in a tricky race anyway.

    Breeders Cup

Classic weren't bad either...... Arrogate best horse on the planet now surely after backing up his Travers rout?

    Champions Day

I have no idea but Nevison is usually worth listening to in handicaps so might just have an e/w interest on Sea Wolf.

    Champions Day

Thanks chaps - Any views on the last? I'm not a big handicap punter. Nevison fancies Sea Wolf e/w and Morando the buzz horse.

Fk senility! Slow start but that double has just made my day!!! Might have been obvious but I was very confident in Almanzor.

    Champions Day

Really? Not reported on RUK. Almanzor is my bet of the day, I think he is the best horse in Europe and will prove it again today (Assuming he runs).
