Shuffle The Deck in over 2m7f (2m6f205y) at Punchestown on Sunday. Would qualify him for the Jack Richards but not the NH Chase I think (need to finish top 4 in a 2m7½f+ Chase). Margins.

    Nottingham latest course under threat

I'm amazed that nothing ceased during the Covid era. Heard a rumour about Perth in 2020/21 but nothing came of it. Many were saying we'd be on 50 courses by 2030 (currently 59) but can't see it going that low.

A couple of interesting handicappers with entries over the next few days: Quebecois (Ultima) - Noticed he's entered over an inadequate 2m at Newbury on Tuesday - straight out of the Ted Walsh playbook. Can only see it as getting a 4th chase run in to qualify for the Ultima. Nicholls has...

Jade De Grugy comment interesting. Maybe Townend doesn't fancy Poniros in the Champion Hurdle and has Spindleberry for the Mares' Chase. But who knows with Mullins stable tours, hard to read too much into them.

Saw this one earlier . Didn't realise Synchronised was backed in from 16s to 8s on the day of the Gold Cup. Also includes the bloke that used to invade the parade ring after Sizing John won the Gold Cup. Think it was Big Mac's last Cheltenham on Channel 4. Although people fawn for the days of...

    Champion Chase 2026

Surprised JP has never won it but really should have done (Jonbon / Defi Su Seuil). Definitely got a habit of falling to pieces, El Fabiolo and Douvan both turned over at 2/9 as well. Made Majborough my nap of the week last year and most of my doubles and trebles were down after race 2...

Madness d'Elle declared for his third hurdles run on Thursday. The stable tour had "Hopefully he's a Triumph Hurdle horse" and went off 4/11 last time. Tender handling on Thursday might put him on a nice mark for the Hallgarten and Novum Wines.

135 in last year's NH Chase looks pretty sweet with hindsight. I remember his sire almost winning The Derby as a maiden at 66/1. Still not sure how Sir Percy got up.

Ah gotcha, think she'll go for the Triumph (and win). Owner must love that race.

Anyone know why Narciso Has has an Irish handicap mark (148) and Selma De Vary doesn't? Same number of hurdle runs

The 2026 William Hill Handicap Hurdle

Imagine The Wallpark will dodge Cheltenham and run in the Irish National. Gordon's stable tour was like '... there are targets at home' for almost all of the horses so know what he wants to do. JP would probably prefer an Irish National win to the Ultima.

Very interesting, that's the AP McCoy stable isn't it. Wouldn't have thought they'd be wanting to win on Saturday.

Might be off the mark here, but can see Patrick Mullins reuniting with Stattler in the Foxhunters' / Hunter Chase this year. Needs another run to qualify, but is being booked in for Hunters' Chases in the next few days. Looked revived last time. 25/1 seems good to me.

Any idea where he's expected to start? I can't understand the logic of ducking Cheltenham with a Turners winner, especially with the Ryanair looking so thin. Pretty sure he was vying for favouritism in the Champion Hurdle at one stage, would be some going ending up in the National.

Certainly seemed to be money for Shannon Royale last time (albeit in a dire race). Wonder if today's run in the P.P. Hogan is a prequel for the Cross Country. Agree on Roc Dino's target - can only see that last run as getting a 5th run in to qualify for the County.

Good luck. For some reason I'm allergic to backing a Canford Cliffs x Galileo bloodline in the National, but that's the only negative I can find.

Only two that interest me, I Am Maximus and Captain Cody. Townend and Cobden. Think it'll be the best chance the latter has had in the race.

I remember when they put Saint Sam in it off 139. Narciso Has was on 144 before yesterday. You'd have to deduct 7 for the mares' allowance, then the winning distance yesterday, plus the Irish tax. 140 might be about right - definitely worth waiting for the mark before getting involved.

Absolutely brutal. I remember Patrick Mullins did something similar on Rathvinden vs. Ms Parfois a few years before. No disincentive unless they lose the race. 2022 a brilliant year. For some reason the last two have been dreary for me. I think Barry O'Neill was also meant to be on Mahler...
