Whats the best horse youve seen race live

I had the privilege to see Tingle Creek race at Stratford in the 1970s I think it was 1977, but could be wrong, senior moments and all that His jumping was breathtaking and although he was narrowly beaten carrying 12 st 7 lbs the memory has stuck with me for life. All replies appreciated.

    Trainers you cannot predict

Does anyone have trainers whose runners you find difficult to predict? Charlie Johnstone on the flat and Jonjo O Neill on the jumps are the 2 that I cannot work out. Normally following the money is a pointer, but they are stables whose runners I rarely back. All replies appreciated 👍🏻

    Stable jockey

Does anyone know who is stable jockey for Roger Fell? Out of interest he has 4 runners in the Brockelby at Doncaster on Saturday. There has been money for one ridden by Rowan Scott. Trying to look for clues in the betting. It's sometimes a big pointer in these races.

Age catches up with all of us

I have just seen that everyone's cliff horse Rohaan has been beaten in a class 4 handicap at Southwell with a 5lb claimer aboard. Doesn't seem so long ago he was contesting Group 1 races and the like. Had a decent record at Ascot. Maybe age is catching up with him. I am speaking from experience 🤣

    P nicholls stable form

Does anyone have any thoughts on the form of Paul Nicholls stable. Only 1 winner from 25 runners over the last 3 days and a few beaten at very short odds. He normally has a quiet spell in January after his string have been vaccinated, but must be of concern with Cheltenham only 4 weeks away.

    Saturdays racing

It's very quiet on here. I suspect everyone is weather watching with plenty of rain forecast in the next day or so. One I like the look of is Knight Of Allen 1.15 Haydock tomorrow. Goes on good to soft and heavy and was given a tender ride first time out at Uttoxeter. Looks a good each way bet...

    Champions day

Lattam in the last at Ascot tomorrow the Balmoral handicap. Finished 2nd in the Lincoln at Doncaster. Has disappointed twice since ,but the secret to this horse is being fresh. He's had a few months off, looks fairly handicapped and handles the ground . Looks a good each way bet at 14/1. I...

    Trainers eh

Just read a piece where William Knight after seeing his horse Dubawi Time finish 3rd in September said the horse would benefit from a quicker surface. One month later the horse wins at Yarmouth as a well backed favourite on going officially described as soft Am I missing something?

    Spittin Mick

Looks like mick easterby put Matt Chapman and many others away this afternoon. Matt was interviewing Mick who told him that Yorkshire Lady would win the 6.05 at Hamilton. He said get plenty on🤣 2 minutes after he said this on air the horse shortened from 3/1 to 6/4. It's sp was 15/8 and of...

    A big thumbs up

A big thumbs up to Jim Goldie and Jordan Electrics. This horse is now an 8 year old and tonight has won a class 2 race off 96. A wonderful achievement for both horse and trainer. It's achievements like this that the racing press and tv companies should be bringing to everyone's attention and...

    Longshot thread

These two are very speculative selections Split the profit 3.05 Epsom 40/1 Law Of Average 3.45 Epsom 50/1 These two met at Lingfield last time out. They are both up markedly in class and out of the handicap as their odds suggest, but they are both speedy individuals who may take a few of these...

    Small stakes outsiders

I thought Yokohams in the 1.15 at Haydock was an interesting runner in a very competitive field Won on debut and ran well next time out when finishing 5th. The form of that race looks decent. May appreciate the testing going on breeding and is a huge price. Generally 40/1 and 50/1 although 66/1...

    Going to the dogs

Hi, does anyone have any early memories of going greyhound racing? I used to go to Belle Vue in Manchester in the 1970s and loved it. Racing under the lights a great atmosphere and bookies who were not afraid to take a decent bet. I had nights going home with pockets full of notes and others...
