The 2025 Silver Cup Handicap Chase

With all the major contenders standing their ground this looks a hot race on paper doesn't it. I would genuinely be pleased if my fella could place in the first four. He'll need to come right back to his best and then improve another 7-10lb to win it though. I'm hopeful but not confident. I...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Cheers, I got 10/1, but I doubt it was my money that brought it into SP of 9/2. Happy it won anyway.

Talking Horses Ante-Post Competition 25/26 December selections

I think it was a big step up on form in the Grade 2 the last day, Slim. A respectable third or fourth place in the big novice hurdle at Leopardstown on December 27th will do nicely, and his trainer can then hopefully unleash him to handicap company in March. It's an audacious plan, but the...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Ludlow 3.30 Masked Dance - The front two in the betting are too short I reckon, and I don't believe this is a two horse race. I think Masked Dance is a fair old price and she can win, provided she handles the slightly longer trip, which looking at her prior runs, I think she will.

Ante Post jumps discussion thread 2025/26

That's a good point, but he wouldn't be the first trainer to run one in a non-handicap where his horse was wrong at the weights, and he certainly won't be the last. Just look at Kihavah in the 2024 Fighting Fifth Hurdle! The market for Saturday has corrected itself a bit today I see. Edit -...

The 2025 Silver Cup Handicap Chase

He's now in to 16/1 best price, your appraisal clearly making a difference, Paw.

The 2025 Silver Cup Handicap Chase

Cheers for that info. He's got some sort of chance on the book hasn't he? The calibre of the opposition looks really high though, with lively contenders and opposition already mentioned on this thread. I think quotes of 20/1 are quite big, but once I put something up, they always drift, you can...

Ante Post jumps discussion thread 2025/26

I like this angle on Leave Of Absense. I see trainer Christian Wiliams has Jack Tudor booked for Deep Cave in this race, but he's double the price at the moment for this than the Silver Cup, which seems a bit odd, given no jockey is booked there yet. Let's see where he turns up.

The 2025 Silver Cup Handicap Chase

At least with my ante post bet I have four places, I'm pleased about that. Hopefully a few more come out on Thursday and my horse is not one of them. 😂👍 That aside, it looks like a hell of an interesting betting race.

The 2025 Silver Cup Handicap Chase

I've had an each way nibble on Threeunderthrufive. He's won and placed twice around this course all off higher marks. One of those was his third place in this very race last year behind Victtorino, giving a load of weight away that day he was. He'll have a pull at the weights with that horse...

Hong Kong Racing - Horse Race Analysis, Tips, Predictions & Live Races For Sha Tin & Happy Valley

I always respect what you think fella but nah. I reckon he's enough in hand the carry these. It's plausible backers could get 4/1 or 9/2 by off time. Aslong as there's no firm in the description I think he'll handle it. He was in front of Giavellotto in the Arc, who won this race last year...

Hong Kong Racing - Horse Race Analysis, Tips, Predictions & Live Races For Sha Tin & Happy Valley

What type of good ground are we looking at guys? It seems there's a concern Sosie might need it softer, but I think he might just handle it, (Sandown good to firm run needs a line putting through), and he's got the form to win this.
