    The 2025 Grand National

Exactly. I backed Grangeclare West today and was buoyed by the fact that every so called expert dismissed it's chances just like they did with Oliver Show last Saturday. They just tip the obvious on their last run!!!!

    The 2025 Grand National

Also all the so called experts seemed to concentrate on form in previous runnings of the race. Four of the last five winners had not set foot on Aintree before the race.

On a line through the third he would have been Involved in the finish.

    The 2025 Grand National

Feel a bit gutted. On the last three Saturdays I have backed: Leloopa took 33/1 won @ 22/1 Oliver Show took 33/1 unlucky 2nd @ 25/1 now Grangeclare West unlucky 3rd @ 33/1 Will definitely be sticking to outsiders though!!! To make matters worse I drew the winner in the ITV7 draw and did not back...

Horses you never forgave and couldn’t like

The Demon Barber for me. Was at Ascot in 94/95 ish and had backed the first three winners in singles doubles and accumulator. The fourth leg was a horse called Classic Statement who would pull himself up if in the front for too long. Going to the 2nd last Classic Statement was sat behind the...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

Charlie Hammond would have been looking forward to ride Miami Magic in the 1:55 at Aintree on Saturday. Stuart Edmunds only runner at the meeting (his latest two runners both won at Fakenham on Tuesday). Brian Hughes deputises and 14/1 is on offer at Bet Victor.

    Aintree (other races)

I also backed Inedit Star ew @ 50/1 same jockey who rode Leelopa 33/1 into 22/1 for me at Kelso recently.

Lulamba could have been Hendersons winner today if he had run him!!!! These things quite often come back to bite you.

Could well pull the mug punters in. We've halved the prices but doubled the number of places!!!!

    The 2025 Grand National

That's why I have backed Grangeclare West. Never fell or unseated and so called experts reckon it is badly handicapped carrying 11-8 yet it has never shouldered less than 11-10 in any race that it has contested!!!

    70s

Reminds me of an incident in my high school days 67/68. Sat in an English lesson and the teacher notices a discussion going o about an LP a student had in his hand. The teacher invites him to the front of the class and takes a look at the LP and states 'Fleetwood Mac they won't go far with a...

    The 2025 Grand National

Of the last four winners of the race only one Coach Rambler had set foot on the course. It used to be that previous form in the race was vital but now that the race has been diluted somewhat it is no longer the case. The horse I have backed at 33/1 is Grangeclare West who won 5 of his first...

    The 2025 Lincoln Handicap

In hindsight all jockeys make mistakes. I remember years ago at York a certain Steve Cauthen managing to get a certain winner (Knoxville trained by Barry Hills) beaten in a photo with a shocking ride. After the race I was talking to a group of lads from Newmarket who had pooled every penny they...
