Douvan looks to be sadly ruled out and we can safely say that he is now unfortunately one we can forget about. Gave some amazing days but could have been so much more

It does appear that they seem keen to step up Footpad so fingers crossed that Great Field can keep fit as he might be special.

Fortia entries should be soon so fingers crossed that Willie unwraps one of the above

Min still has potential but Aintree may be the track that he is best served to have his big day

Connections of Saint Calvados may not declare their horse for the Haldon Gold Cup tomorrow but may run in Ireland this coming weekend instead.

My favourite jumps races are this.
Altior will destroy everything again., however I'd love them to step him up.

2m chasing is the pinnacle for me

I don't see why they would step Altior up unless he gets stuffed somewhere before Xmas which is unlikely to be honest.

No point stepping up for the Ryanair. And they have MB for the GC

Great Field is a headbanger. Wonder who gets that ride.

Dying to see the Fortia entries

Agree Granger, no finer sight than seeing them attack 12 fences going lickety split.
Can't see how anyone can fancy Min to reverse form, on decent ground beaten 7 lengths in Supreme. This year on heavy winning margin the same.
I still think Altior could step and win a King George, if that happens they'd have to go for Gold.

I hope Nicky runs Altior soon and nothing takes him on.

Knowing the bookies they will then make him odds on for the CC.

I just can't see him winning the CC this time.

He takes too much time to get going and this time round there's much better than Cloudy Dream to contend with.

He performs like that again by the time he gets in top gear Footpad will be eating his supper
I can see Mullins also running UDS to ensure Altior is taken off his feet.

Sceau Royal could also be a danger if he returns. If they all make it this is miles tougher than last year and despite the fact he could go odds on soon 5/4 is a total joke

Mullins much more likely to run Great Field, who would do a better job of taking Altior off his feet anyway. UDS wouldn’t have the pace nowadays, I don’t reckon.

I don't really think it will matter how the race is run or what else is in it, Altior is a freak in terms of what he can do in the final half-mile at Cheltenham.

I have a lot of sympathy with this statement, tbh......but I think Footpad could be in an altogether different class to any 2-mile chaser he’s faced to date. Hopefully both get to the Champion Chase at the top of their form.

My thinking is that the Supreme is a grinders race (lost of Gold Cup horses have run in it rather than the Neptune - Denman a notable exception) and whilst the QM is a speed test it really wasn't last year with the ground the way it was. I think Min would have a shot at reversing if that race was run on good.

But I'm hoping this is all moot and Footpad runs
