2025 Adonis Hurdle

Another week of Henderson entering horses short priced favourites and then playing the Henderson hokey cokey. Straight as a die the fella 🤣

Probably won't happen now, but if I was on Lulumba at nice odds. I'd want another outing before the festival. Crawled around at Ascot on his debut. East Idia Dock will put his jumping to the test.

Mondo Man is now all the rage, 4/7 at the moment which I can’t help thinking is overdone. Opec is taking on the boys again at the same level as last time at Chepstow where she led them into the fog,was still there coming out of it, up there going into it again and still there coming out only to weaken in the straight. She will likely enjoy much better ground on Saturday and 4/1 seems the better value. “Value”, of course, doesn’t mean a candle if they don’t win, but it is tempting.

Arguably against all odds - what with him being a posh fella and me being a chippy pleb - I like Nicky Henderson.... I've only had direct, or indirect, contact with him a couple of times, but I found him to be a genuinely lovely bloke on both occasions.

However, I don't always take with he says about his horses at face value.

He was saying on Thursday that Lulamba and Palladium don't need another run before Cheltenham.

What happened to make him suddenly think that between Monday - when he entered them for this! - and now, then?

If I'd backed either for the Triumph (I haven't, I've got 33/1 East India Dock and the docket is currently my most treasured ante-post possession) I'd be more than a tad concerned tbh.

And if Mondo doesn't win by the length of the straight tomorrow, that Lulamba Ascot form will start to look a bit "sus."
