Senior Jockey
I was at a funeral this past Thursday so missed the above winner.
I first heard of her coming from Cheltenham Paddy Power meeting.
Her owner used to call to the driver that kindly gave me the lift and was an elderly lady who dressed and behaved as one would when her husband was ill and in need of her constant care.
Anyways having missed her for a few years she showed up one day hair done, face made up and dressed to the nines.
She had a filly running that day and was as excited as a teenager.
Though she was always interested in racing her husband had no interest so there it lay dormant until.......
her husband had passed on so she decided to fulfill a lifelong desire to own a racehorse, went to the October sales and picked out the above, a Sea The Stars filly that she purchased for 200,000 Gns! ( as widows in their 80s do! )
Amanda Perrett lived nearby so got to train her.
The filly was named in honour of her late husband.
My only regret is she did not win The Oaks for her.
That is what I call style.
