The reading of Archie’s thread about his new life in the countryside, brought to my attention how things have changed for me over the last 2 years or so.
My life changed dramatically in 2003, the death of my husband, left me feeling complete emptiness and I had no idea how I would continue my life.
Just as I was beginning to feel that I was coping, I lost my dear nan.
Slowly I picked up the pieces, with the help of family and friends.
Now over two years on, I have my own small business, and more recently I have got involved in a small venture with Muttley! Both she and I are mad keen on antiques and we decided to rent some floor space in an antiques centre. We have only been selling for one month, but the sales have been brisk and the outlook is excellent.

Sometimes I think back to how things were and why things happen in our lives. I for one believe that they happen for a reason. For the first time in a long time, I feel I can move on and enjoy life again.
I hope you don’t mind that I want to share this with you.
Most important of all…………………….Thank You Muttley!

Time is also a great healer Tracy and now you have something to focus on ( other than racing :P ) with the help of someone who is obviously a marvellous friend I am sure you have every reason to look forward to the future. Good luck with your venture, where is it? Must come and have a look !

Well done and best of luck and hope you make it a big success and make millions, and it just puts the small petty things in life into perspective.

Yes DIM we have all at sometime in our life had our lives turned upside down whether through illness, the passing of someone, divorce!! or many other things and its surprising how one then meets or are helped by different people in our lives....

There's an old adage that one door closes and another door opens and a lot of people believe in this!! but I am somewhat sceptical to this adage but it does really work for a lot others....obviously has done so for you.......

But good luck Dim IN ALL YOU DO!!! and you Mutts don't forget your oppo's, mates, if you make it BIG!!! my hopes seem to lie with others picking those numbers out for me or ERNIE ......

Good luck to the both of you.............John aka MtM.........

There is an addendum to this... a mate of mine was a millionaire by the age of 28 owned horses big yankee cars, Rolls Royce used to pick me up here in the bronx in these motors, we went to all the top places too but he got in trouble with the tax man, business went bust now he deals in antiques in the valleys........

That's great news, myself & the clan are chuffed to hear that things are going so well. It's been ages since we saw you guys, hopefully we'll be able to meet up again soon and catch up (probably during the jumps season!).

And thank you, too, Dims - life has expanded exponentially over the last couple of years and it's fun!!

HJ - would be great to meet up again. Soggy Towcester or Huntingdon might fit the bill. :D :D

Respect, Diminuendo! And to Mutley too...

Here's to trade keeping steady and to you both getting a great deal of enjoyment as well out of your new venture.

Fair play. A good friend of mine had a lot of death in her family and she took it very badly. Its great to see people move on a bit and start enjoying themselves again. Where here fot the good times after all.

You can go one of two ways - sink into depression and burden your friends and family, or haul yourself up and away. Good that you took the positive way, Dims, and the best of luck to you and Muttley with the biz. You ought to send your story in to ITV - they may like to star you in a new series of 'Start a New Life'.

Thanks for the good wishes folks!

Good luck with your venture, where is it? Must come and have a look !

DG its the biggest antique centre in the midlands. It is called the Antiques Cellar in Brackley. The antiques centres down here in the south west are just not good enough for the likes of Muttley and I

HJ, you are right there, we must have a get to gether, maybe in the autumn. How's Daniel?

Hmm Krizon, I don't know about that, Maybe we should be in Little Britain

you did very well.
ever considered a forum-name change?
diminuendo - as you know - means: slowly getting silent.
crescendo (growing) might now suit better.
all the best. w

Sounds like great fun, doing a job you enjoy. Not many people can say that. I hope it continues to go well :)

Thanks for sharing that with us Dim. As I said on my thread, sharing the good feeling is probably part of the process. Lord knows, there are enough miserable threads.
All the best to both of you.

What a lovely, heartwarming story. Best of luck to the both of you.

I have a few antiques I have recently inherited and would be more than happy for you to value them for me at some time. Do you specialise in anything in particular or just general - ie anything!

Hi Kathy, we specialise in fine english and german porcelain, animal figurines and collectables. If you need a valuation done, it must be best to call in an expert.

Roll Up Roll Up...... Get your fine Hutschenreuther figurines 'ere!!!!

Good luck with your business venture guys and it's good to see that things are getting better for you Diminuendo after having had such a hard time of things.

As someone lucky enough to have spent a fair bit of time with both Dim and Muttley in the past I am delighted to hear that all is going well.
