I've had great news today. Me owd mammy, who most of you know has been adding steadily to her form of FFFs, will be off to a very bright, clean, and cheerful nursing home in Shoreham (just 15 minutes' drive away) on Friday. I'm going to be taking some personal bits and bobs over tomorrow to make her room (with en suite loo and washbasin) feel familiar for her. Though her recovery from the last 'F' will probably be in terms of months, at least she's got round-the-clock care available. I'm hoping she's going to change her form from Fs to at least a 'P' if not an 'R' in future!

I would like to say a monster 'thanks' to everyone who PM'd or posted during this worrying time. You don't know how much I've appreciated you taking time for your thoughts and words, and Mama wants to thank you all, too. ("How very kind of them - why are they doing that? They haven't met me." she mused. "It's BECAUSE they haven't met you," I growled.) <_<

Cheers, dear forum friends! :)

The forum is a very helpfull place at times. Its no wonder we spend so long on here.

Best wishes krizon, hope that your mum settles in well and makes your life interesting for a good few years to come.

Jon, that really is great news. I'm sure she will settle right in and be leading the sing songs and calls for more games of bingo in no time at all...

It must be a great weight off of your mind too Krizon. I hope she settles in soon, and that she realises that this is the best place for her to be. Has her mobility improved?

JON wish her (the ancient briton :P ) well one never knows with this move... it could be figures of PUP bringing new life to both of you as PUP's :D and it will give you more time to do what you like doing as well....................good luck from me.... to you both.......... :)

Great news Jon, must be a big relief for you. Hope your Ma likes it too. Besides, having met her I can safely say I thought she was ace - any woman her age who starts knocking back the vodka & tonics whilst the sun is still high in the sky seems alright to me! B)

PS - what did she think to the toffee vodka? Luverly stuff....

Must be doing something right if she can keep up with you :)

I am pleased that this is turning our well Jon. Despite your endless harassment of me I was feeling your pain.

Glad to hear everything is going hunky dory. :D

We got some of the toffee vodka on Sunday..........trying to save it is proving difficult :P
