Do any of you play on this?

I only use Betfair so I don't know what bookies have regarding this.

I quite like this way of betting. I use a few criterion and only play on certain races where I think I have an edge.

I have played it often. Howver sometime if it's 4 runners and the betting indicates correctly that it's an obvious race between 2 horses you get much better odds just backing which one of the 2 you fancy.

What might be 4/5 and whatever offers as low as 4/7 on A v B

The best bet for me was always the Tote Jackpot (with a big rollover essential). Definitely worth doing today (if you're stuck for combs put the first & last race fav & see if you get to leg 6). GL if playing

Hope someone had it

Today's LIVE Tote Jackpot Results
There were 24.87 correct selections each winning £29,186.00

(A 6-timer at SP would have paid £5,262.89 to same stake)

Getting back to betfair a v b the liquidity can be fairly poor. I prefer the fixed odds version on the flat -mainly maiden races where sometimes horses can misbehave badly on the way to the start or at the start.

Apologies for mentioning the Tote Jackpot on the a v b thread but the thing that's (fairly) relevant is that when there is a large roll over the punter definitely has an edge if playing the Jackpot as opposed to very many bets.

Going back to my original post.

I've been using a set of rules for AvB which may throw up 2 or 3 bets a day. Obviously these can only be bet just before the race to get any liquidity, but each day once the AvBs appear on Betfair I will post up my picks before racing. I will shove a tenner on each pick and post what price I have taken on Betfair just before the race.

Over a month, lets see if I can make a profit, I think I can based on limited past results. This will be semi serious as a money maker, but by posting on here I will have a real record.

Will start tomorrow, could be sh*t, could be an interesting look in each day for anyone interested.

Not an angle I would give much thought to myself. Good luck with the project, Alan.

Lack of liquidity will be the killer -if you have an active bet365 account have a look at their match betting just before the off.

The reason you should take notice is that poor liquidity means it is a weak market which can be easily manipulated.

By who? Why would that bother my tenner? You seem to be looking into this way too seriously Luke. The AvB market changes according to which ever horse shortens or lengthens, that is it. I've backed horses at 2/1 in this market due to the drift, and still won. I'm not seeing what you are worrying about to be quite honest here. Then again, I'm old and this stuff really isn't my best knowledge.

I look on this as black v red... the difference being is..... I know a lot about black and red in this instance.

Just to add, will only post when there is a pick or picks, nothing last couple of days

I don't like the idea of taking under the odds.Sometimes the fixed odds can be fairly dynamic and overreact to certain events.

Explain how you decide what is under the odds or a value bet. I'll pick a race tomorrow with an AvB, then explain to me how you know what the odds should be on both options.

Going to start posting again tomorrow on this, not felt much like doing much re racing, I need to get back into it. I'm just doing tenners to see if I can make a small profit monthly. Nothing major £wise.
