Aintree Travel

Will be staying in Southport as usual and wondered if any local Forumite could give advice on alternative travel, in case the rail strike goes ahead.

I have looked at route 300 but that seems to drop off quite a way from the course in the retail park. Is that a fair way from the racecourse? or just a few minutes. (I wouldn't mind walking, usually, but have a knackered ankle at present and would prefer not to end up hobbling over a mile or more!)

From memory, the retail park is very near the course. As near as the train station, I think.

The 300 does pass the course usually but check for diversions on racedays. From memory I think they have been diverted in the past.

It is near. I parked there last time. 10 minute walk
