I'm pleased to see Alan Munro has been passed fit to ride again. I think he's one of the best jockeys around and I'm always quite happy if he's on a horse I've backed. According to the RP has plans to come back around February or March next year.
Who does the other half of you think will get the job? Will they fudge through another season, hanging on for Fallon or will they bite the bullet and name a number one?
Did Murtagh do enough? Can he stay fit enough for a whole year?
I thought Murtagh was a shoo-in but one of the Coolmore guys virtually ruled it out recently. Looks like they'll be using the best available; means there's a huge opportunity for one of the top younger guys to get their foot in the door. McDonagh and Berry, for example.
Tabor seems to be a big fan of Munro, though, assuming he comes back fully up to speed I'm sure he'll be used by them in Britain.
The thought of having multi-million pound racehorses ridden by whoever is available doesn't sit comfortably with me. But then I guess they're not mine.
