If you were allowed to drink only one kind of alcohol again for the rest of you life what would it be?

I would once have said red wine but having had far too much of the stuff a few weeks a go resulting in me making a total tit of myself it would have to be vodka and cranberry.

It would have to be vodka - my toleration to wine is getting less and less all the time. I can't drink red wine as even a glassful brings on a migraine & it's getting that way with white wine now too. My uncle suffers from migraines too and he started off the same way as me - first unable to drink red wine, then any wine; now he is unable to drink alcohol at all as it triggers a migraine. Please, God, don't do that to me....

Champagne, a decent one. I can't stand those ghastly cheap bottles that are more like bubble bath than champers! :P
Can't argue with that.

Probably now go for vodka - it makes into loads of lovely cocktails, it can be used to whoosh up fruit juices without being intrusive, super as a long summer drink with tonic, ice and lime; it's great straight from the freezer as a quick hit, and it's lovely in any coffees or sorbets. I think it's because it's so versatile - I love gin, but not in my coffee! - that I'd go for it. And I do love champagne, but it would have to be Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque, and then I'd just sicken myself for it.

Good old voddie - it's the INCHCAILLOCH of alcohol!

As much as I love gin I'd probably have to go for vodka for the same reasons as Jon. You can do more with vodka than you can gin :)

You're not wrong there Jon/Griffin - it's wonderful stuff, you can do anything with it! I've cooked with it before too - a slug of vodka in a sauce (much the same as wine) can add a good rich flavour.

Ice cold pint bottles of Bulmers. Cider is the drink of kings. So many ways to drink it.

A good, dry, white wine - but none of these blasted things that are nothing more than a sop to red wine drinkers (too heavy, too high an alcohol content) - something light and delicate ...

:)

Pint glass with a lot of ice.
Half glass full of ice.
If the bottle is cold enough no ice at all, half glass. (surely the best way?)
If shes too warm out of her belly button.
Now if your a bit of a lunatic drinking it through a shot glass and shooting the whole bottle.
Lets not forget, a pint bottle of cider is the one drink you can share..... but theyd want to be fair special to get anu of mine.

There is just nothing bad about it.
