The name was always revered in our household as I was growing up. My old man was a big fan and the brother would pretty much follow Criquette's horses, especially the fillies, blind.

Legend.

Pretty much sums him up .
A buddy of mine managed a farm in New York State for a guy whose German businesses went into liquidation.
Alec Head and Roland de Chambure came to visit the farm, declared they would purchase if the current team of staff remained.
My man was delighted but unfortunately Roland died shortly after, so all came to nought.
Freddy won a French 1000 Gns on Matiara, I believe, a long odds on fav barely after Cash had hemmed Freddy in.
Alec was FURIOUS, wanting Cash warned off for life.
Rest In Peace Alec, you were revered in this household also.

The Head family have had their fair share of success including the Arc

We just watched another Ascot Gold Cup a race he won as a trainer in the 60's and he was in his 40's then.

Sadly passed away 2 years before his 100th birthday:( R.I.P.
