I'm getting an increasing amount of 'bounced' emails for people who haven't updated their email addresses

I know its easily overlooked when you change your email address for whatever reason, but can everyone please keep them up to date on here please.

Apart from anything else it causes un-necessary load on the server, and more work for me deleting them all, some days I can get 30 or 40 of them so it's not like I'm talking about one a month or anything!

As from Monday if I get returned mails I'll suspend the member concerned and will only re-instate them when the email address has been updated
 
this is still happening guys - there is a forum member going to be suspended the next time i get a bounced mail from them telling me they have just recieved a pm about william hill (little hint there to the regular to stop him getting suspended), and a few others too
 
I'm sure if you named the people it wouldn't cause any problems? There must a few like myself who struggle with aspects of IT and wouldn't actually know if we were doing something wrong? Yet alone how to remediate it :lol:
 
Yeah & me :lol: mind you we have had the same email addy for 8/9yrs purely because the thought of doing all the changeover stuff horrifies me :o that & the people who say once you have AOL you can't get rid of it :unsure:
 
Well I just had an interesting couple of minutes. If you change to a hotmail e-mail address the notification you receive, enabling you to log back on here, goes straight into the "junk" folder depending on your settings, so don't sit there waiting for it to appear in your inbox.

Incidentally the links didn't work so had to cut and paste the details into the activation page as well, Warbler may be right here, there may be some find themselves stranded.
