But according to what I read in the Scottish press you should all be singing calypsos up there:
Tartan Army backing Trinidad and Tobago
From
Scotland Today
Scotland might not be going to Germany, but that has not stopped World Cup fever spreading here. With six Scottish based players in its squad, it appears the Tartan Army has joined the ranks of the Soca Warriors and is backing Trinidad and Tobago to go all the way - or at least to get a win over a certain team in their group.
This will be Trinidad's and Tobago's first ever World Cupa and the Soca Warriors are loving every minute. With a population of just over 1 million they will be the smallest country taking part in the competition. They have been drawn in Group B with Sweden, Paraguay and - of course - England.
With six players currently attached to Scottish teams, they are getting plenty of backing from the Tartan Army.
At 37 Falkirk's Russell Latapy must have thought he would never play at a World Cup. Now he is using the competition to bow out of international football.
Scotland shirts in demand
From
The Scotsman
The official jersey of the Trinidad and Tobago striker Jason Scotland, who plays for St Johnstone, is in so much demand that the maker, Adidas, is sending extra deliveries north of the Border…There is no doubt that is who everyone in the Tartan Army will be supporting. A lot of people have got the older shirts with ‘Scotland’ written on the back, and there are already loads of bidders on eBay. They will all be Scotland supporters buying them, there is nothing surer.
According to one website:
Warrior-mania is spreading rapidly - it’s already gripped the Scots, the Irish, the Welsh and the Germans. The fans aren’t the only ones who can’t get enough - the Soca Warriors seem to be the media darlings of this World Cup.
So, Merlin, MarkEE, Honest Tom, Maurice, an capall, Galileo, Gearoid, crazyhorse and all you manny others - all together now...
