I don't know if there is any interest in this but the saga began about 13:30 Thursday 21/09/2013 when I realised to increase my betting account (although it was already in credit to about £500) I needed to update my payment details.

I struggled to understand the issues until a live chat with Ladbrokes informed me that to change my card I needed to remove all my funds first BUT because it was a new card number I needed to forward details of my bank account. Fair enough, even though some of the details required needed explaining to me - I'm no dunce I have several accounts and I know exactly what a bank requires.

Customer care then tells me that they are awaiting a response from the 'banking' department. It is now over 24 hours and still no response.

Is this normal - Ladbrokes can advertise, update their website but this sort of delaying tactic cannot be to their advantage.

WH wouldn't let me delete a card from my account the other day until all my ante post Cheltenham bets are settled-even though the bank account was closed.madness.probably to stop money laundering of some sort

My annoyance is that I'm simply changing card numbers as my last card expired. So given the bank account remains unaltered I cannot understand the tardiness.

Does anybody on the forum have any experience of lodging money to Betfair outside of the usual laser/debit card transactions?? Could do without gambling accounts constantly appearing on my bank statements..

Yep, PP charges about 4% I believe when transferring money to another party.

I don't believe there is a charge for purchase of items.

On the Ladbrokes front, all misunderstanding was cleared up with a phone call , if only the Customer Services people had made that clear at the start.

How many times did I need to say 'THE CARD HAS EXPIRED I CANNOT GIVE YOU A PHOTOCOPY OF IT.'
