His politics wouldn't have been my cup of tea but some of his films were brilliant. I watched Ben Hur last week and lapped up every second of it. It's like watching all my winning Grand Nationals at once when I watch the chariot race knowing the 4/1 coup is going to be landed.

I used to love his Movies, but when he travelled to Denver the week after the Columbine slaughter and said they would have to prise his rifle 'from his cold dead hands' we went our separate ways.

I guess they are prising this morning.

Since none of the TV channels ever seem to put on 'seasons' of films of recently-deceased stars, I watched my own copy of Ben Hur this evening. Fantastic!
