With so many bad things going on in the world, it's good to know that Sudan has, after an internal war lasting some 20 years and costing the lives of around 1,500,000 people (yes, that really IS one and a half million Sudanese dead), signed treaties today to provide for a power-sharing government, with a halt to all hostilities between warring Christians and Muslims.

Al-hamdu-lillah, and praise the Lord! :)

Blimey, do you rain on all parades as a matter of routine? :(

Yes, true enough, but after two decades of division and horror, they need to be given a bit of time to 'readjust' the situation, Brian. There has been so much displacement of people, re-placing them will need a lot of admin and care. Of course, if things aren't improving significantly by, say, six months, then serious questions must be asked and answered.
