It seems to have been in response to the win the other day of the O'Neill horse in the big Cheltenham Hcap Chase. It was a bigger bet than I'd planned and I got a price enhancement but I've had bigger wins with them down the years.

Or maybe them dodging a bullet when my 28/1 Celtic to go through the season unbeaten came unstuck but it would have been a pretty hefty return for me.

Day to day racing is down by two thirds according to Patrick Veitch. The pre race matched amounts on Irish racing are scandalous.Back in the day there was literally free money to be made on betfair -there is no soft money these days.My own personal opinion is that it is possible to win on any given race or at the biggest meetings of the year when liquidity is good but if you deposit a couple of hundred on a Saturday to have a bet in 5 or 6 races it is very hard to win -especially if you are attempting to trade.
Over the last 20 years I would say 95% of my business has been on betfair but I am doing a big reset this year and trying to reduce that to 65%.
To paraphrase something a local businessman said to me years ago -turnover is vanity -profit is sanity.
