I'm now having problems formatting texts in my posts.

In the past, I would highlight the text for formatting and click on the apropriate tab in the Code Buttons section.

Now when I do that, I get a new dialogue box coming up (similar to the one that comes up when adding a link or image) asking me what text I want to format. I'm supposed to copy and paste into the dialogue box? I can't be @rsed with that so your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to work out how I get back to doing things the way I used to

Mo go into MY COMPUTER right click on it to open it... highlight your HARD DISK right click on this go to PROPERTIES last one on the drop down.. left click on it it then says TOOLS choose this option PUT TWO TICKS IN THE BOXES then reboot your P/C it may take half an hour to defrag etc etc but I do this once a week sometimes only selecting the first option in the tools which only takes minutes and corrects possible faults........

:o Its fcuking Saturday Mo why do you get a fault on a Saturday ??????? :P :P

I will add an addendum to this soon regards MICROSOFT WORD ……

go into your mail user i.e. OUTLOOK or OUTLOOK EXPRESS go to HELP drop down options choose detect and repair it will repair any problems in WORD etc :o
now leave me alone to post my selections on ALL the comps .................. :P :D :D

FOR ALL YOU USERS OF X/P YOU NEED TO DO THE FIRST ONE ON A REGULAR BASIS THE LATTER IF YOU FIND YOU HAVE A PROBLEM REGARDS WORD ETC

Thanks, Merlin. I'll have a look but I'm really uncomfortable about changing settings on the PC. this new problem never happened before and I've had this XP for two or three years now. As with the previous problem, it's only been since I installed the Zone Alarm trial.

I reckon it's a by-product of the way Zone Alarm blocks ads and popups. As you browse the web, Zone Alarm goes through the source code of the web pages you're visiting - before your browser gets it - looking for Javascript and changes anything that it believes could be a popup. The post formatting functions of the forum are implemented in Javascript, so it could be that there's something in them that Zone Alarm doesn't like. I'd recommend completely disabling Zone Alarm's ad-blocking and let Internet Explorer's popup blocker do the job instead.
