Report from London this morning is that we have fairly big snow, but the trains are still running. Interesting since a few leaves usually stops them. As we live near a big park we have a lot of wildlife and the snow outside our door is covered in criss cross of tracks, fox and various birds. The crows look amazing against the whiteness of the snow and they are all screaming at me to be fed. We throw peanuts out for them in winter, but cannot help them today as the nuts sink in the snow and make them even crosser! Our elderly cat (who was blown over in the wind last week) went out, walked about 5 paces and came back in complaining loudly. I know how she feels.

Very pretty but is creating havoc already on the main road nearby.

Had news from Devon where we keep our horses, that our litttle triangle is clear of snow, but maybe not everywhere. Dims - snow?

What is it like elsewhere for all of you?

Crazyhorse, have you got snow in Germany??

Well a couple of centimetres was enough to stop the First Great Western service between Bicester and Oxford. No anouncement, its an unmanned station and the help/ information connection hasn't worked for 2 weeks, so spent three quarters of an hour freezing. No plans to shuttle us via taxi or coach, and the next train is 1.55, so come back home. Will ring in work and see what they want. one meetign to cancel, and then work from home otherwise I guess

No snow here, not even on Dartmoor. However the clouds are looking a bit different today. They have forecast some snow for the high ground, so we will have to see.

A tiny bit of snow here in Faringdon. Enough for a very small snowball, not a snowman.

Me too Isinglass. I want it to snow on Dartmoor so that I can get up there and do some shots of the ponies in the snow. I am keeping an eye on the Dartmoor webcam which is near Princetown.

A bit of snow here in Berkshire. It looked lovely at 05:30hrs this am when I had to let the dog out for a wee. It's all gone now though.

Next time you`re at a Railway station consider how heavy a train is and then see how wide the rail is. Not exactly like a lorry on a wide expanse of motorway is it? When a train runs over leaves on the track they caramelize, making the rails slippy.

And the trains do run when we have leaves on the line, they just operate with speed restrictions enforced.

About an inch in Tooting. My train was cancelled. I had to walk to the tube. I slipped on the way. Young good-for-nothings threw snow balls at me.

I got into work, and then got a roasting from the head of the department for not insisting that front office hedge to a three-factor model when trading oil derivatives.

We lost a bit of money, but I couldn't give a flying 4uck.

I've just got off the phone to a mate in Maidstone who says they've got six inches of snow predicted for tonight!

Kent has between 10 and 15 cm predicted for overnight. None here in brum, OfSTED still went ahead. Bugger!!

Bootiful day here in Devon.............as you can see.

Msc Napoli just tucked by the headland. Not seen from this angle, but I ould see it well from a higher postion.

Lovely photos, Tracy. I have a family of robins in my garden and two of them look as if they have fat balls..... whole. :nerd:

What a darling little fellow! I hope you gave him an edible reward for posing, Tracy? The middle photo is magnificent.

I love robins, they're such cheery looking little chaps. Yes, I know some if them will be ladies but for some reason I think of them all as boys. They can be quite vicious towards each other though and are known to fight to the death, often by pecking a hole through the other's skull.
