I`m off to Dubrovnik next month and, like Kathy and Sorrento, would welcome any views, advice,etc. I guess there`s no Betting shops or Irish bars :D
 
Not been myself but my parents went just over 20 years ago - beautiful according to them.

Enjoy it Dan hope it's still as nice as it apparently was back then.
 
I have - and there are at least two Irish bars. I was there for England's opening World Cup game against Paraguay last year and watched the match in one of them (with a commentary in Serbo-Croat).

It is a charming medieval little town, though much of it was rebuilt in the original style after the destruction caused by the great earthquake in 1667.

As it is not that big a place and depending how long you're going to be there I would recommend hiring a car and exploring some of the lovely small towns and villages further north up the Dalmatian coast.

DD, wish I could help, but I have never been. I would love to hear all about it though when you get back as I always find it useful hearing what other people like and dislike about various places. Enjoy! :)
