I have got to go and do some work over there, probably just a few days.

Any advice on where to stay, which areas, good hotels etc?

What to do on a night?

Getting around? What is public transport like? Is there a metro?

I will probably fly into Belfast International, how do I get into the city? Is it worth hiring a car at the airport? I have got a couple of places to go in Belfast and then up to Carrick Fergus for a day.

Lots of questions I know, but it is not a part of the world I am familiar with, so any help appreciated. Ta.

I'm sure we've had a topic about Belfast before Betsmate, relating to a hen do I think. That had some good advice about hotels and where to drink etc if that's any use :)

I was in Belfast last year for a hen do and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in the Europa which isn't the cheapest but is a nice hotel. I'd be reluctant to stay there in the summer though as there was no air conditioning and the rooms were ridiculously warm. It has a decent bar and is across the road from the Crown bar, which is worth a look in. There is also a bookies right across the road. There was also an abseiling thing going on when we were there - it was a bit of a shock to look out of the window about seven storeys up and see someone looking back in! We travelled around by taxi, they were cheap enough I think although I was in an alcohol induced haze most of the weekend!

Cracking city. Had a great time.

Had a couple of hours to kill this afternoon so drove up to the Giants Causeway. Not bad - preferred the horse.

If the weather is right and you have good eyesight you can look out to the sea and just about make out... Tiznow's giant stubborn ###### head laughing at you :angy:
