I am still using Windows 98 with the PC I have had for the past 5 years.
Totally pi**ed off with the OS and yes I know I can move to XP but, with
that being the most popular one now, it is also the main target for viruses.

AppleMacs are far more robust and far less problems and should I choose Linux
OS then I can virtually forget hackers etc.

Anyone got a Apple Mac ? if so would be very interested in your opinions.
I know Brian is still running Win 98 and like me, maybe undecided which way to go.

Microsoft have a new system coming out next year 'Vista' but it will still become the main target for the vandals and will still have the usual Microsoft glitches.

I am leaning towards the Apple Mac OS X Tiger after reading its reviews.

That's a fallacy regards X/P... I run NTFS in X/P and with a few extra guards I get no problems at all..........and my choice would be WINDOWS every time...

here's a couple of Q&A regards NTFS..... in WINDOWS etc etc

NTFS HERE

I built this p/c that I use a year April gone 0-4 but have used NTFS for a few yrs now..........

NTFS acronym for New Technology File System

NTFS is a file system used by the Windows NT operating system (and is also supported by Windows XP).

The NTFS file system uses a MFT (Master File Table) to locate all files within an NTFS volume, all critical data is duplicated to allow error recovery ensuring the loss of one sector will not mean the loss of the entire partition.

Additionally it can recover data from a bad sector and ensure the bad sector is not used again.

NTFS also includes some advanced security features, including the ability to password protect individual files and/or folders.

I run X/P PRO.............AS AN OPERATING SYSTEM TOO I use two hard disks one for the current operating system 80 GBTS and one for downloads 40 GBTS and back ups................
