I can have some sympathy for the view that if you hate our values so much, then what are you doing here?

There again you could say the same to communists and the christian right perhaps

Australia has liked to boast (do they do anything else) about their multiculturalism. Its painful to be tolerant of those with the horrible views of the more extreme elements of islam, becasue they show absolutely no tolerance towards others at all. seeing some of the left here suck up to those that would stone adulterers and hang gays as well as spout genocidal aims towards jews has been even more disgusting than what we read above

where theres a security risk (which of course there often is) there is a need to be very vigilant in times when terrorism cn take more and more extreme forms

but this should be tackled quietly and not through sweeping rhetoric
