Australian Hurdler

Can someone put me out of my misery? There was a hurdler bought out of Australia that won at least one graded hurdle probably around a decade ago.

It's name escapes me, and my brain hurts!

Not sure about winning a Graded hurdle, but Specular and Zabenz were a couple of top Australian hurdlers to be imported to the UK in the last dozen years or so.

Specular placed in graded hurdle. Zabenz won a graded chase (or hurdle) in Saratoga. Second to Zabenz in that race was a horse trained by Sir Michael Stoute - not many people know that.

Logician was another Aussie jumping horse areound that time, although he only jumped fences over here.

Specular's bubble popped by no less than old Foghorn Leghorn, iirc.

Second to Zabenz in that race was a horse trained by Sir Michael Stoute - not many people know that.

And for good reason. It's true that the second had been trained by Michael Stoute as a youngster, but Stoutey said cheerio to him several years prior to his twig-hopping foray.
