Just walked back in the door after witnessing the aftermath of a horrible car crash :(

I've been taking the dogs to the park early as its been so warm & whilst walking around the park I heard the most awful noise, screeching brakes & a sickening thud, I put the dogs on their leads & walked to the entrance to see a car & truck smashed head on into each other :( I called 999 but police were already aware, thankfully the ambulance & police station is only a couple of hundred yards away & were there within 4/5 mins, gave my details to the police before coming home but can't see that I'd be any use as I didn't see anything, just heard the noise :(

God help the car driver cry

I have deleted your post Colin . I thought you might think better of it as it could have been misinterpreted.

That's horrible Aldaniti - I was going to work early a couple of years ago and saw a student out of his face get hit by a car and fly into the air like a rag doll . It was horrific. Fortunately, it turned out that he wasn't killed or permanently maimed - almost certainly because he was drunk and his body went floppy apparently - sickening thing to see though.

Thankfully I didn't see it, the crash that is!
I read Colins post & its ok as I know he was pulling my leg (winking smilly has disapeared)

I don't understand why the crash appeared to be so bad as it was almost on top of a roundabout so they could not of been going that fast shrug::

Considering the amount of crashes on a daily basis it was actually the first accident involving a car that I've been near, although I have witnessed in full horrific detail a plane crash in which two people died, we were at an airshow 3 years or so back & the plane a fairy firefly or something like that just didn't get the lift & just slammed into the ground 200yrds from where we were standing  that caused sleepless nights for months afterwards but it wasn't the sight of the crash it was the noise of the plane hitting the ground, just a dead thud cry

Hope they are all OK.
On a slightly different note, re the guy "off his face". There was a story in our local paper a year or so ago, regarding a parking ticket.

A man had stopped his car to guide a drunk man out of the middle of a busy A Road near us. He got a parking ticket for stopping on yellow lines. Despite appealing, saving the drunk guys life and preventing any car drivers being hurt, the council would not withdraw it's ticket.

What a bunch of, ahem, "idiots". Seems a £60 fine is worth more than a man's life.

Its in our local paper today, the car driver who also had a baby in the back escaped with only cuts & bruises which considering he had to be cut out of the car, he is a very lucky man! the baby was unhurt & so was the pick up truck driver.
