I'm close to giving up, too. You could try and say that you were trying to win some money to buy her a present, but that would need you to be a good liar, and her to be incredibly stupid.

You could also try to bluff something about you being a bit confused; you wanted to tell her how much you like her, but you don't want to scare her away. In your confusion, you did something stupid; you fled to the poker house as it was a refuge from your tumultuous emotions. Some chicks fall for that kind of crap; just after you act the maggot, pretending it is down to confusion over how into her you are. Again, this is unlikely to work given what happened.

Looks like you're snookered. But try one more escape. It'll be all worth it when you are giving her a good stuffing.
