Imprisoned for 8 years for a crime he clearly didn`t commit (IMHO) and now refused compensation because he is "not innocent enough"....should we laugh or cry?
Hard to believe based on what's been reported - it's almost as if the process has concluded:
- Ok, we accept he didn't do what he was accused of and was wrongly imprisoned
- He is however a bit "different" to the societal norm
- We therefore think he must be guilty of something, so fair enough.
That's why they should bring back hanging. There would be none of this namby pamby appealing and compensation rubbish. They can hardly dig you up again to give evidence can they?m If he didn't do it then tough. Thats life. Can't expect everything to go your way
(Seriously though...he's been treated like **** and it was a laughably flimsy conviction. Literally a case of round up the local nutter and burn him at the stake)
typical poor police effort to start with..and a disgraceful way to treat an innocent man..must contravene loads of human rights issues...oh no..that's only for criminals to gain from
I was particularly interested in this section on his Wiki page.
"On 10 January 1983, George had been found in the grounds of Kensington Palace, at that time the home of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales. He had been discovered hiding in the grounds wearing a balaclava and carrying 50 feet of rope, a 12 inch hunting knife, and in possession of a poem he had written to Prince Charles."
The possibility of Prince Charles being tied up and forced to listen to poetry on pain of castration is an intriguing one.
