Hunt for $365m US lottery winner
One lottery player in the US state of Nebraska has scooped $365m (£210m), the largest jackpot in the game's history.
Lottery operators in the US confirmed that just one winning ticket was sold for Saturday's draw, but said the winner had not yet come forward.
The winner will be able to claim the money over 30 years, or take a single payment of $177m.
Lottery officials were due to visit the retailer who sold the winning ticket on Sunday to check its authenticity.
The winning ticket was sold in Lincoln, Nebraska.
"We don't know if the winner knows yet," Nebraska lottery spokesman Brian Rockey told the Associated Press.
Anticipation of the draw had prompted record ticket sales in participating states.
Ticket sales in West Virginia reached 29 per second, operators said.
The previous biggest lottery win was $363m, a jackpot shared between two winning tickets in 2000.
The Powerball lottery is played in 28 states plus the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands.
