Right I'll start this, although I suspect very few of you will get the reference to an early 80's synth/ rock band responsible for a great 12" song called "Remebrance Day', and later 'No Where Girl', yet having just revisited my youth by listening to their debut (and only) album if realised what they threw away (I knew it at the time too). Only Dexy's 'Too Rye Ay' stands to match it, in let down capacity.

I should also for terms of balance, the Stranglers' version of "all day and all of the night is better"

PS

If any one can find a way of doing some IT manipulation to bring back remebrance day for me, I'd be a grateful Warbler. And if u can, could anyone please resurect the 12" inch version of "uncertain smile" by The The please.? I won't start on a Belfast band called Ruefrex, but if anyone can hunt that down (it was on Kasper) you'll be rewarded if you like honest guitar bands (the album was called 'Flowers for all Ocassions"

I believe this band origniated from my home town of Mansfield, I have a copy of Nowhere Girl and may have Remembrance Day, si I'll try and get copies to you.

Under the Bridge (originally by the Chilli Peppers) annihilated by All Saints. Offensively bad.

Come to think of it, with a more lucid mind than when I posted. I'd have to mention the Fine Young Cannibals doing a hatchet job of the Buzzcocks 'Ever fallen in love with some you shouldn't have fallen in love with'. And I can't remember which particularly talentless female artist it was that destroyed Lena Lovitch's "I think we're alone now" and turned it into some limp and very weak apology of an effort

Tiffany i believe Warbler.

After a bit of pondering my vote goes to Tom Jones horrific rendering of Kiss by Prince.

Absolutely, couldn't agree more.

However the worst has to go to Scissor Sisters' hatchet job on Comfortably Numb.
