Can Kittys light win again.
Only a week from the Scottish national but doesnt get a penalty.
If Frodon is topweight then he will have 10.6 if Hewick runs then 10s.
What are your thoughts.

I think he can.

He went into the Eider off a ridiculous mark. I just thought he was being prepared for the SGN/B365 double. Looks like it was the treble but I also thought stablemate CDN ran a great trial the other day and I wouldn't rule out Domaine De L'Isle.

Edit
Forgot to check the card before posting. Neither CDN nor DDLI runs.

I'll be home Thursday afternoon so should get through the card that evening.

It seems nuts..Hewick gave Kitty's a few pounds and a beating but now he'd have to give him 2 stone.

They must be tempted to run Kitty's but only if he works well beforehand I imagine.

I might have a bet on Frodon for fun who could run well in this lesser grade

I took 5s kittys but I'm aware of the danger of running one week on.
I also snaffled 16/1 Enrillo and I'm glad because hes now 8s and I wouldnt back it at that price.

Kitty’s Light (4/1) is the one to beat if he’s over Ayr last week but I’m not sure I want to take the price with so little recovery time. It’s fair to assume Enrilo has been targeting this since his disqualification two years ago off 6lbs higher but I can’t back him at a single-figure price. I’m going to go with Coolvalla (14s tops) each-way with 6 places on offer with some firms. I’ve also taken 25/1 (6pl) about Broken Halo, who might just have been very cleverly campaigned by taking uncompetitive races for military monkey jockeys, meaning the handicapper hasn’t taken the form too seriously but his last three runs have been at this track. I’ll cover these with Kitty’s Light just in case.

There’s no-one better than Nicholls for bringing horses to the boil at just the right time and he specifically targets this meeting. Got to respect his runners in this.

“I don’t think I’ve had Enrilo as well since he won this race two years ago before losing it in the steward’s room for causing interference just short of the line. I’ve always felt there was a big race in him off his current mark and have employed a different approach training him this time. I’ve done loads with him including a nice school round Larkhill recently and a gallop away from home. He ran all right last time on ground that was too soft for him and is coming right in the spring. I’d say he is very fit and well and if he runs to his best he has a massive chance with good ground in his favour. He is certainly due to run a big race.”

Broken Halo - “He’s a lively outsider.”

Frodon - “ He is a class horse, stayed on very well last time at Kempton and I’ve always felt this race would suit his style on good ground.”

I took 5s kittys but I'm aware of the danger of running one week on.

Did the Sean Curran rag win both races a week apart?

Edit - checked, Iris De Balme didn't win at Sandown (for some reason I was sure he did) but Hot Weld did the double the year before with the races seven days apart (and 9lbs higher at Sandown than at Ayr).

Superb from all concerned with the horse. I was cheering him home all the way from the Pond. I think Coolvalla might also have got me some place money.

Think Coolvalla crossed the line 5th but a long way behind the winner. Remarkable run having looked like he was going to be tailed off

Well done Christian Williams and team. Fantastic a week on from the Scottish GN

He'll go up to 147-ish for that.

Could they be training him for Aintree next year now?

Well done on getting 5s, outsider

Went up 6lb for winning the Scottish national D.
I got 5.4/1 with a boost.
And 4/1 with Hewick 6/4 for a nice double.
Days like this makes up for all my bad days.its what keeps us doing it.

Kittys light went up another 1lb for its win.
New mark 147.

Will it be aimed at the National or 3 or 4 poor runs and get its mark back down for another tilt at the Scottish.

137 made the cut for Aintree this year so they can probably afford to get him back down to somewhere around that kind of mark as I can see the same circumstances that brought about the bar being lowered happening again. That said, I reckon a similar run of defeats as this season won't see his mark fall below that 137.

That said, the horses on 137 at Aintree had to race off 143 due to the top weights standing their ground. Would Kitty's Light win the National off 143? I think he could be at least competitive. Plus, he's still young enough to improve a wee bit more and, while he can mess fences up, he seldom looks like actually falling.
