As I said on the Betfair thread I quite like Faivoir and I was pleased to see that Dan Skelton reckons him his best chance of the day. False confidence, of course, but nice to see all the same.

Elsewhere I’ve tons to look at but little to back so far.

Kai Lenihan has been riding up a storm for Kim Bailey and I think his 7lb allowance puts Sayadam in with a really good chance in the 3:20 at Uttoxeter. Opposed by a strong winner in Fine Casting who takes an 8lb hike for the win. 3/1 atm

Bubble Diva has been running well in defeat and should show up well in his handicap debut at Warwick 3;48. Unfortunately opposed by a good favourite of Skeltons with Harry choosing to ride here so can’t be that confident.. 100/30 atm

Others of interest: Russian Ruler at Newbury and Theatre Glory at Warwick.

Another stupid Saturday. Faivoir first to drop out, tailed off and pulled up. Either Skelton is clueless about the condition of his horses or he’s having a laugh. I’ll never learn the first rule that was drummed into me - “never bet in big handicaps”.. I know it’s fun, but I shouldn’t.

Russian Ruler was still bang there when falling at the last, but wouldn’t have won and Theatre Glory had a bloodless victory with Love Envoi not running. The other two were ok until push came to shove. Another crappy Saturday and I think I’ll ditch the fun bets and just be patient until the full bets come along.
