Having just written a scathing email to Betfair regarding their incredibly long repayment times, i just wondered if anyone else had bad experiences when using their client.

I often find that i wait upto 30 mins to receive my winning, and today was the straw that broke the camel's back - it's been 90 mins and still no money.

Their repayments, other than on the horses, are a shambles, and unless they pull their finger out they're bound to lose custom.

Arsemunchers.

They are essential to my punting, but Betfair`s poker strikes me as either bandwagon jumping an afterthought or both. Considering all the well run, professional sites out there i really wouldn`t bother denisco.

You get the cash games money back straight away but the tournies can take forever to settle. All in all I like Betfair poker and dont play anywhere else.

With respect Gearoid that is a mistake if winning money is your priority. There are lots of soft games on the sites like Pokerstars, Pacific, Ultimate Bet and Party where Americans dominate the fields.

I play Betfair for one reason mainly. I user a laser card and they process my deposits instantly. It takes too long pricking around on Ladbrokes etc. I normally have money in my Betfair account and I like the ease of use.

I havent really played heavily in a while. I do quite well (above break even) both its putting the time in. It can get a bit lonely and boring sitting in front of a screen for hours on end.

Euronymous, could I ask a favour of you, as a poker player? Would you check out an acquaintance's site which he started up earlier this year, and let me know what you think of it? It's called http://www.bigslickpokerdevils.com and when I asked him at Lingfield how it was going, he said okay, but a bit slow. I just wondered if, as an online player, you might have any constructive suggestions to offer if you didn't think it was appealing? I don't have any 'interest' in this, but he's a sincere chap, and it would be nice if I could offer him a suggestion to improve it, if you think so. (No problem if you don't want to - it was just an impulse on my part, seeing this. But thanks if you do!)

By slow i presume he means the forum? Not much traffic there. It`s well designed if a little cluttered, The first thing that is noticeable is that the six sites featured, rated and reviewed on the home page all have the same rating. If i was a novice that would put me off, which site do they recommend you join? Also, as a veteran of online sites it`s lack of independence (rating Betfair poker the same as Ultimate Bet is an immediate giveaway) is a turn-off.
That said it`s concise, well informed and i like the game guides. A decent effort overall, it looks like it`s model is pokerpages, but that site has a huge, busy forum, something that is essential if this site is going to work long term.

That's very kind of you, Euronymous, to take the time. I don't know anything about poker sites or what they should work like, but I'll pass on the comments as he's keen to get feedback. I think he actually meant that business was slow! :(
